Free 10-Year Design Life Battery Upgrade

PSS Distributors are now upgrading ALL UPS systems above 5kVA to 10-year design life batteries at no additional cost.

Standard UPS systems commonly include 5-year design life VRLA sealed lead acid batteries. PSS is now providing upgraded long-life batteries as standard on eligible systems, helping customers achieve improved reliability, longer replacement intervals, and reduced maintenance costs over the life of the UPS.

This free upgrade includes our popular:

• Enduro 6kVA UPS + battery banks
• Enduro 10kVA UPS + battery banks

While 10-year design life batteries are built for extended performance, real-world lifespan is heavily influenced by operating conditions, we regularly see around 7-8 years due to maintenance and environment.

To maximise battery performance and lifespan, we recommend:

Battery temperature is one of the biggest factors affecting lifespan.

• Optimal operating temperature: 25°C
• Batteries should not exceed 40°C
• Excessive heat will significantly reduce battery life

UPS systems and battery banks should always be installed with the manufacturer’s recommended ventilation clearances and airflow requirements.

Regular discharge testing helps maintain battery health and identify potential issues before failure occurs.

Recommended intervals:

• Every 3 months for critical sites
• Every 6–12 months for standard applications

For best performance:

• Avoid humidity and moisture
• Maintain a dust-free environment
• Prevent corrosion and contamination

Routine preventative maintenance is essential to ensure:

• Battery health
• UPS reliability
• Correct charger operation
• Early fault detection
