Powering Processing and Control Systems at Dukton and Tropicana Mines

Regis Mines needed a power backup solution capable of supporting critical operations at Dukton and Tropicana mines. The system had to provide uninterrupted power to processing equipment, substation lighting, and control systems. Without a reliable UPS, unexpected outages could lead to operational delays, equipment failures, and safety risks.

The mines required a high-capacity, scalable solution that could handle fluctuating power demands in a harsh mining environment. Given the remote location of both sites, ongoing servicing and long-term reliability were equally important.

PSS supplied a combination of five GP806 and three GP810 UPS units to provide reliable backup power across both mine sites. These systems were selected for their ability to sustain heavy loads, maintain stable voltage, and operate efficiently under demanding conditions.

These units were integrated into the existing infrastructure with minimal disruption, allowing for a seamless transition to a more reliable power system.

The UPS systems have continued to provide uninterrupted power for Dukton and Tropicana Mines since 2016. With annual servicing by PSS, the units have remained fully operational, preventing downtime and maintaining efficiency across the sites.
